Texas-based luxury retailer, Neiman Marcus, is famous for its opulent, over-the-top Christmas offerings. But they may have gone too far when they began selling collard greens, a staple of home-style cooking, for $66—plus an extra $15.50 for shipping! You can buy a can of the leafy greens for $1 at a grocery store.
Now Twitter users are venting their rage about the costly veg using the hashtag #GentrifiedGreens:
Rich or not, if u pay $66 for greens, you're 1 fry short of a happy meal...but I'll make you some cabbage for $65.50 #gentrifiedgreens— Raheema (@TheRaheemaJ) November 2, 2016
I hope every one of my ancestors haunts the mess out of the person at Neiman Marcus who thought of the #gentrifiedgreens— Ephesia Snow (@UNCLUVA) November 2, 2016
