A retired French archeologist picked up an engraving at a bric-a-brac stall in Sarrebourg, France for a few euros. He noticed the stamp of the Staatsgalerie in Stuttgart on the the back of the artwork and decided to donate it back. The copperplate engraving turned out to be a lost work by
Albrecht Dürer titled
Maria Crowned by an Angel. It was made in 1520 and had been missing since the end of the second world war.
