Miss Vera, the fairy godmother of crossdressers, is a pioneer in the crossdressing and transgender movement who opened Miss Vera’s Finishing School for Boys Who Want to be Girls in her Chelsea apartment in 1992. It is "the world’s first transgender academy and foremost crossdressing service, located in New York City and known across the globe."
She has written three books of advice for crossdressing, most recently Cross Gender Fun For All.
