Insane Amusement Park Ride From 1919

This amusement park ride was devised by two New York inventors in 1919. Riders would be strapped into pivoting chairs inside a bullet-shaped capsule and shot out of an enormous cannon, splashing down in a 100-foot tall pool, then careening down an enormous water flume to a lake below. Guide rails and a conveyor belt would then return the capsules back to where they started.

The idea for the ride was illustrated in the December 1919 issue of Electrical Experimenter magazine but it never got past the drawing board stage. I wonder why.
