In a paper called "
Electronic plants," researchers from Linköping University in Sweden describe how they were able to form electronic circuits inside living plants.
The plants not only conducted electrical signals, but the team also "induced roses' leaves to light up and change color."
An electronic technology leveraging the plant’s native vascular circuitry promises new pathways to harvesting from photosynthesis and other complex biochemical processes.
