Ave Rose's Robotic Taxidermied Creatures

Writer and artist Ave Rose has crafted a collection titled Bestiary of the Automata. She uses tiny bones, taxidermied animal parts and elaborate baroque-styled outfits to create grotesque figures that are animated with motion mechanics and move along with accompanying music. Below is "Raccoon With A Silver Spoon":

At the push of a button the debutante raccoon turns her head. One hand touches the genuine pearls in her fancy curls while the other hand shows off her silver spoon with the engraving "First Love". Materials: raccoon skull & paws, antique silver spoon with the engraving "First Love", genuine paraiba ice gemstones set in sterling silver, genuine white salt pearls, antique brooch. Measurement: 30" tall 12"round.

The collection, was featured as part of the 3rd Biennial Taxidermy Show (2014) at the La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Hollywood.
