How Cold Is It Here?

Hell may not have frozen over yet but for the second time in what has been a frigid winter Niagara Falls came to an icy halt as the six million cubic feet of water that typically flow over the falls every minute has frozen over. In January, another record-breaking cold front managed to freeze the falls in a 'polar vortex' that turned the cascading water to ice - and affected about 240 million people in the U.S. and southern Canada. I am one of these. Brrrr.

Update:  It's cold but not that cold. In fact, it did not occur last year, and it has not occurred this year, says Tony Baldinelli, a senior manager with the Niagara Parks Commission. The Falls are only partially frozen.
