Toronto-based photographer
Richard Johnson has spent eight winters photographing ice fishing huts across Canada. Villages composed of ice huts pop up in every province during the coldest months. Some of the structures are very basic; others have bathrooms, stoves and even satellite tvs.
To date, Johnson has made it to nine of Canada’s 10 provinces. Images can be purchased at the
his site.
