In this scene from Fritz Laing's 1927 masterpiece the artificial Maria bewitches the mighty men of Metropolis. In future, when I attend parties, I'll make my entrance exactly like this.
The cut with all the eyes at 2:30 was considered a breakthrough in special effects technique.
