Canadians are being nickel and dimed to death by senseless fees. Salad set-up fee? Wheelchair taxi fee? Permission fee to watch dog euthanization? It's out of control.
CBC Marketplace is on the hunt for the country’s dumbest fee. Canadians submitted more than 700 complaints about fees from across the country, expressing outrage at a huge variety of charges big and small.

Some of those are crazy. $50 to watch my pet die? There would be bloodshed.
ReplyDeleteI was at a gathering on Cape Cod last weekend, where the Canadians were complaining their dollar had dropped to 88 cents US. I never really understood that fluctuation.
Our currency has been a wild roller coaster ride. Purchasing flights and hotel rooms has turned into a risky business.
ReplyDeleteI thought the whole 'who is the winner' premise to be beside the point & tacky, however, whatever it takes to get people involved I suppose.
ReplyDeleteI did have an issue with the wording...not a 'dumb' fee...what they presented were 'rip-off' fees at best.
