In 1993 English director, Derek Jarman, released Wittgenstein, the life story of the Austrian-British philosopher. Karl Johnson plays the philosopher (with Clancy Chassay as his younger self) and Tilda Swinton is noted aristocrat Lady Ottoline Morrell. It's the sort of quirky film I like but I don't expect everyone to share my enthusiasm.

I had to watch to see how Swinton portrayed Lady Ottoline Morrell, with whom I'm acquainted only through Virginia Woolf and her contemporaries.
ReplyDeleteI stay in Bloomsbury when I'm in London and have been known to have a drink at the Lady Ottoline pub.
