Niagara Falls, ON boy, Joel Zimmerman (aka Deadmau5), is involved in a dustup with the Disney Corp. over the use of the EDM star's trademark logo (a black-and-white replication of his mouse head, worn on-stage for a decade), which they say closely resembles their own, Mickey Mouse-inspired image.
Zimmerman doesn't seem worried:
"Lawyer up mickey," he tweeted Tuesday night, followed by another confident declaration: "Disney thinks you might confuse an established electronic musician / performer with a cartoon mouse. That's how stupid they think you are."More: Rolling Stone
Well, considering that Deadmau5 has been wearing big mouse ears for a decade, while performing his electronic music...and no one seemed confused or concerned, one has to wonder about what issue there could be.
ReplyDeleteNow, if he had some big white-gloved hands, red shorts & yellow shoes, along with this great big smile...maybe some confusion...but really Disney?
I like his attitude.
