I Speak Fluent Canadian, Eh

I admit to using all these words at one time or another although it's been awhile since I've had occasion to use "Garburator"

  1. Several of these are common in britain, so not unique to canucks....
Chesterfield, for heaven's sake, named for the 4th earl chesterfield... Chinook, a variant of Fohn wind, it may refer to the canadian one, but it's a term oft used outside of canada, and let's not also forget the military helicopter so named... deke, eh, housecoat, kerfuffle, kilick, knapsack, lumber-jacket, washroom, zed.
Shinny, I'm willing to bet, got its name from the Irish hockey-like game of Shinty.

The others, I grant you, are not in general use in my part of the world.
