Every 4th of July, thousands of people go to Boom City on the Tulalip reservation to buy cherry bombs, bottle rockets, firecrackers, and roman candles. In his series, also named Boom City, Seattle-based photographer Andrew Waits sliced various fireworks lengthwise, exposing their colorful compositional make-up.
