Napoleon's Nightshirt

"A stained, V-neck cotton night shirt [above] has set off a heated family battle in France."

Would you want this dirty looking garment? It belonged to Napoleon Bonaparte and he wore it during his  final days. After his death his servant, Achille Archambault, saved it along with some of his other belongings, including a lock of his hair and two monogrammed cloth bandages.

His will stipulated that these items were to remain with the family but some of his descendants  are itching to sell them. 83-year-old Annonciade Martelli who owns one-ninth of the collection decided to put items up for auction without consulting other relatives. One faction of the family won an injunction preventing the sale arguing that the hank of hair and soiled clothing should stay in the family, or be donated to a museum in France.

I wonder what Napoleon would think of people feuding over his old nightshirt.
