Arthur Tress Brought Children's Nightmares To Life

In the 1960s New York photographer Arthur Tress spoke with children about their dreams—often nightmares that involved falling, monsters, that buried alive scenario—and would then photograph them experiencing it in a safe, staged setting. This series combined his interests in ritual ceremony, Jungian archetypes and social allegory.
