I think every child loves to play with miniatures. When I was a little Nag I loved my supermarket set that came with cute boxes and cans that were just like the ones my mother had in our cupboards and my Easy Bake Oven complete with tiny cake mixes. I never had a butcher shop though.
Victorians documented their entire world in miniature. Elaborate tiny replicas were modeled for every store in town: the draper, the greengrocer, the fishmonger, the baker, the milliner and the sweet shop. So toy butcher shops were not unusual.
Above is a miniature butcher shop circa 1840 that is realistic right down to the blood and sawdust on the floor.
