In 1994, an Ohio court declared Donald E. Miller Jr. dead. He'd disappeared years before and his wife needed to formalize his death to qualify her daughters for social security benefits.
Miller recently turned up very much alive with a girlfriend in tow. He wanted a drivers licence and, since the Department of Motor Vehicles does not issue licenses to deceased persons, Miller appeared in court to testify on behalf of his own existence. He lost.
