My ensuite bath has a scary face |
When we moved into our house more than a few decades ago Mr. Nag found an old cast iron clawfoot tub that would match our decor. We had it painted several times over the years and bought a very expensive faucet set for it. Recently it was looking dingy and starting to chip. We called the bathtub dude and he said there were too many coats of enamel on it so it would have to be stripped before repainting and it would cost $1000. Yikes! So Mr. Nag moved the old tub out and found a deal on a new tub but when he brought it home it was chipped and too small for the space so we bought a new clawfoot tub for $1000. Why? Because the iron tub had been moved out and it was problematic to move it back in. And we'd purchased the tub and couldn't get a refund. The original iron tub now sits on a flat roof right outside the bedroom window. When I suggested to Mr. Nag that it might be a good idea to sell it to the ironmonger he told me I'm fortunate to have an ensuite bath.
Maybe I should do something like this with it:

You definitely should! Tubs filled with flowers are quite lovely.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't look like that tub is going anywhere anytime soon so I might as well make it look a little prettier.
