6 of America's Coolest, Oldest and Highest Trees

The Ancient Angel Oak in Charleston, South Carolina has a canopy reaching almost 17,000 square feet. It is the only one of these trees that I have seen.

The Banyan Tree in Lahaina, Hawaiil was planted in 1873. It was just eight feet tall. Today it stands 60 feet tall and has 11 more trunks than when it was first brought to Maui from India. It’s also a community center for the town of Lahaina, providing shade for almost an entire acre of land next to the beach.

The Methuselah pine tree in California, at over 4800 years old, stands as the oldest living thing in the world.
