How to Tell if You’re Living an Over-Propped Life

This NYTimes.com article talks about the current trend to stage living quarters, clothing, meals, indeed almost anything. When I looked at the slideshow I discovered that I am over-propped. I have an antique typewriter, vintage fan, Le Creuset cookware, antelope and moose antlers and I almost always have cut flowers (peonies and roses today).
Below are my flowers, typewriter and Joyce, my prettiest prop.

I don't see how Le Creuset cookware could be seen as a prop if it is as well utilized as mine. And cut flowers? They lift the spirit.

  1. If one truly enjoys the things they surround themself with...isn't that the point?
I love all of my 'stuff'...makes me happy for many reasons...beautiful, sentimental, functional, makes me happy.
I don't understand those who surround themselves with items &/or decor...just to impress.

Just out of curiosity... where do you get ribbons for your typewriter?

  5. Sorry it took so long to post your comment, Steve. Blogger probably thought you wanted to sell me typewriter ribbons and sent it to spam. Actually I'm hoping you do want to sell them to me. It would beat getting out the horse and buggy and driving to the general store.
