This reminds me of a political campaign I worked on years ago where the candidate's husband bore an unfortunate resemblance to Lurch. This became his nickname (only used discretely behind his back of course). One day a new volunteer joined the campaign and I introduced her:
"This is the husband of our candidate" to which she replied "Glad to meet you Lurch".
Mortification ensued.
