In the following letter Abigail Adams urges her husband, future U.S. President, John Adams, to."remember the ladies" when drafting new laws or else fear rebellion from the female population. This letter was sent over 200 years ago, at the start of the American Revolutionary War, a time when women had very few rights.

Abigail was Quincy,(powerful MA family), well versed in philosophy, politics, and poetry. Even so, she was well acquainted with the plight of women. John depended on her insight, and input, when he wrote the MA Constitution.
