Manly Rules for Naming Man’s Best Friend

The Art of Manliness gives advice to all you dudes out there who can't figure out what name to give your puppy. Fido, Spot, Toto, Lassie, Snoopy, Buddy, etc. are all unacceptable.  Likewise Bieber.

    Some of my dogs had names (Heidi, Katie and Max) when I took them in and since they'd all been through a lot of change I didn't want to add more confusion. I once had a dear little blenheim Cavalier King Charles pup that I named Dash after Queen Victoria's beloved dog of the same breed. I later discovered that this was highly unoriginal.

    My dog was officially called Dill, after Dill the Dog in the children's tv series, The Herbs....
    Usually he just answered to "Dog", this being his rank and status within the household.
