Female Students 1920-1950

Here is a charming collection of photos of students in the good old days when face slapping and deportment were considered worthy educational pursuits.

  1. Awwww, these are so cute! The first photo is gorgeous. This may sound creepy, but I want it blown up and framed on my wall.

  2. "Enjoy"?!!

They ENJOY a lesson in face slapping?

So that's where it all starts. I plan to have porcupine dna injected into my facial hair-growing follicles, so I can cultivate my own slap-repudiating defence.

  3. I agree, Tanya. I love the way the photographer caught all the girls in the air. It makes them look so carefree.

  4. All I can say, Soubriquet, is that it's more enjoyable than Statistics 101.

  5. Well, I do have to wonder how many girls toppled off the pole...hope the pole wasn't too high!
I'm not sure I could do the one-leg balance, with plate on head and spinning a hoop on the other leg...without toppling to one side, while standing on firm ground!
But, perhaps my posture would be better.

  6. Lsamsa, I'd never heard of one legged, plate balancing, hoop spinning on a pole. Possibly because no one lived to tell the tale.
