Patrick Blanc's Vertical Gardens

Patrick Blanc is a French botanist who creates vertical gardens for cities, public buildings, museums, hotels, restaurants, commercial spaces and private residences around the world.
He created this one in front of the wonderful Caixa Forum in Madrid. The Hotel Mora where I stayed last week is the building above with the flags on it. I took the photo below when I was there.

  2. I think it's currently on display in NYC so I did not see it.

  3. What?
    No Elephant?

Love the vertical gardens though. we should have them in all of our nasty concrete cities.
    Elephants too.
I'm not a fan of rusty buildings like the one in the background.
We have an award-winning one in my home town. I sneer at it every time I pass. Horrid pretentious thing.

As for door-breaking, I suppose firemen have a different perspective to me. I use a crowbar, that's if cutting through the deadbolt isn't possible. If the crowbar won't do it, you'll hurt your foot.

    Best? http://entrytools.se/tools/wooden-door-breaching-tool.aspx

  4. The CaixaForum was constructed from a vacant industrial building. The interior is stunning with a large steel staircase and is a great place to look at art. We saw two excellent exhibits, Delacroix and Teotihuocan.
