A flash mob-style dinner for 400

A gourmand asked his friends to meet and eat in a public space and dress in white to recognize one another. It has since spread to larger venues to accommodate thousands who converge at a secretly announced venue.
Its rules are to get decked out in white and bring dark umbrellas if it rains.

Diner en Blanc started simply in Paris in the late 1980s then spread across the pond to North America and last night it arrived in my town of Niagara on the Lake, the first time the event has been held in Ontario.
