Wainfleet Fall Fair

I staffed a bling and propaganda table at the fair today. I found time to buy some lovely Niagara produce - and a big bag of greasy donuts!

  1. One of my fondest memories of the CNE, back in the late ‘50s, was the greasy donuts.

  3. No, at that time MA, but had relatives living in Stony Creek, near Hamilton. Pop's cousin worked at the steel mill and we went to visit a couple times during the CNE. First time I ever saw the mini automatic donut machines, which plop the dough into the grease, then float them in a spiral path to the unload conveyer.
Bet they aren't 25 cents a bag anymore.
