RIP Liam Clancy

My cousin John told me Liam Clancy had died.He knew because his family (and mine to a much lesser extent) has been hugely entwined with the Irish music scene.

    The last of the group. He lived in Calgary for a while. I had a bunch of Clancy/Makem vinyl back in the 60s and used to know the lyrics to a half dozen or so of their songs. Great singer, great music.

    I can't say I was a huge fan but having a large extended Irish family I listened to a lot of their music and if I heard it today could still sing along.
