World War II: Then and Now

I love then and now photographs. Here is a collection of photographs taken in France before and after WW II. I am amazed at how little change there is in these photos. Even without a cataclysmic war our North American landscapes undergo tremendous change over the decades, not always for the better.

    Interesting images.

I haven't been anywhere in Europe except for a summer in London around 1980. I was shocked at how old everything was. They were still delivering milk in horse drawn wagons in a major city.

On the other hand, there are a lot of small towns in Ontario that wouldn't look that much different today compared to 60 years ago.

I think the population growth in North America has been much greater than in Europe. That could explain why things seem to change so much here.
