bellevillestories is a film about a less touristed area of Paris

Chinese-American filmmaker MA Shumin is fascinated by the current shift of the Franco-Chinese community from Paris' traditional "Chinatown" of the 13th arrondisement to the growing immigrant community of Belleville. Thus, "Belleville Stories", a feature-length film consisting of a series of portraits of the people belonging to the immigrant community of Paris' 20th arrondisement, was born.

The film will not only speak of the challenges faced by the members of this community, but also of their hopes, dreams, and successes as they seek to build new homes and new lives in France…
