Cholitas

Cholitas are Bolivian women of Indian heritage who have often been victims of racial discrimination. They are known for their bowler hats, long braids, the adjusted corset, and the brightly coloured puffed skirt. Now a new generation is reclaiming the iconic dress as a symbol of empowerment.
Photographer Delphine Blast's photo series  provides new insight into Bolivian womanhood.
