The Coolest Way To Lose Weight?

Wouldn't it be great to lose weight without having to hang out with my enemy, the treadmill? If I could sit here blogging and watch the pounds melt away just by wearing a vest? A new technological breakthrough claims to make this dream a reality.

Humans produce at least two types of fat tissue—white and brown. White fat cells store energy and are inert. Brown fat cells are more active than their white cousins and have a very different function. Instead of passively storing fat, brown adipose tissue’s role in the body is to BURN fatty acids as a fuel source. Babies have thermogenic deposits of brown fat in the neck and shoulders that keep them warm. New findings revealed that adults have brown fat, too.

Thin Ice is the world’s first ‘wearable’ weight loss clothing line. The vest uses a technology that cools parts of the body with high concentrations of thermoreceptors which stimulate the brown adipose tissue (BAT) pathway that burns white fat (bad fat) to produce heat, burning calories in the process!

For now I've placed it in my "too good to be true" file but am ready to be convinced.

Read more about it here.
