Stuart Davis: In Full Swing

Stuart Davis was an early American modernist painter, known for his jazz-influenced pop art paintings of the 1940s and 1950s. He was the first American artist to use modern advertising style in his work.

There is an exhibition of his work at the Whitney Museum until September 25 that I'd like to see.
