FarmBot Will Care For Your Garden

FarmBot Genesis is an open-source CNC farming machine designed for at-home automated food production. Developed by a team from California, it performs nearly the entire gardening process. It plants the seeds, waters each plant precisely, and pulverizes weeds. Here's how it works:

I was initially excited by the idea of having a robot gardener to do the grunt work but the maximum growing area is only 2.9m x 1.4m. At $4101.30 CAD it seems expensive when I could look after a vegetable garden that size without too much effort. My two veggie beds are each that size so I'd require two machines (yikes!) but it's my enormous perennial beds that are most labour intensive.
