Don't drive in Eritrea, the world's deadliest driving destination with 48.4 deaths per 100,000 residents. You've been warned.


On the map above, each country is colour-coded to reflect the number of road fatalities per 100,000 inhabitants per year.

If you want to feel really safe behind the wheel go to San Marino where there 0 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants. Other notable findings include the fact that Portugal is less safe than the rest of Western Europe and the US is twice as dangerous as Canada.
