Birds Decorated Nests With Ancient Documents

During restoration work in the ancient Assumption Cathedral in Zvenigorod Russian archaeologists discovered birds’ nests under the decayed roof. The nests were built over many centuries and contained paper documents from different periods. Researchers found XVIII century manuscripts and notes from early XIX century. They also found scraps of pre-revolutionary newspapers, candy wrappers, recipes, tickets, packaging, even  promissory notes, bills of sale and banknotes that birds had stolen for their home decorating projects.
