McDonald's introduces poutine across Canada

McDonald's has announced it will start serving poutine, that hot mess of fries, cheese curds and gravy in all its restaurants across Canada. They will use Quebec cheese curds in its version of poutine, which will sell for $3.99.
Although poutine had its origins in Quebec in the late 50s I don't remember ever seeing it at the cabanes à patates when I was a kid. Perhaps if I had one of these to wash the slop down with I might consider making my own.
