Toronto Of The Future

An aerial image of Toronto's future downtown from Cale Vanderveen's Google
Earth model. Buildings in construction are blue, approved in green, sales in
yellow and proposed in red. The ones in white are pre-application.

Cale Vanderveen, a 17-year-old high school student from Uxbridge, built an interactive 3D model of Toronto's downtown core on his laptop using SketchUp, free 3D modeling software formerly owned by Google.
The model shows just about every future structure currently in the works, from the newly announced Gehry-Mirvish towers to those well under construction, each building colour-coded to show its stage of development.

  2. I find the traffic in Toronto unbearable. When I lived there my job entailed a lot of city driving. I can't imagine doing that now.
