A Man Grew 30-foot Fingernails Out of Spite

82-year-old Shridhar Chillal started growing out the nails on his left hand 66 years ago when he accidentally broke a teacher’s fingernail and the teacher told him he could not possibly understand the care needed to grown out long nails. He set out to prove her wrong. His nails grew to a combined length of 30 feet and earned him a Guinness World Record. When he finally decided the time had come to cut his nails he sold them to Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum and reportedly received enough to retire on. It took a mini circular saw to hack off the hideous keratin talons.
