The Freedom Wall

The Freedom Wall depicts the portraits of 28 notable civil rights leaders in American history, past and present, on a large wall at Michigan Avenue and East Ferry Street in Buffalo. Painted by four Buffalo artists in 2017 it presents a historical narrative that recognizes well-known national activists alongside equally important but less-widely-known local leaders.
