The Ancestor of All Flowers

Scientists believe this 3D recreation depicts the mother of all flowers

What did the world's first flowering plants look like? Biologist Hervé Sauquet and his colleagues tested millions of possible shapes and forms for a flower that would likely evolve into the flowers we know today. What resulted was a flower that looks similar to a magnolia but not exactly.
