Greek visual designer
Charis Tsevis created a series of portraits for
Womankind magazine, each representing a different country, era and personality.
They are built from materials or patterns unique to each region: cracked tile patterns from Greek regions for the portrait of Persephone, traditional quilting patterns for the Russian girl cover, bricks of Reggae records for the African woman, and various images of marine life for American marine biologist and conservationist Rachel Carson.
