The map above was created in1884 by the livestock supply company H.W. Hill & Co. as a promotional item. It illustrates mostly unflattering generalizations, misconceptions and stereotypes about each state and the people who live there. The Utah pig has four wives. The Missouri pig is shown vomiting over a fence and is nicknamed "Puke".
