L’illusion de Joseph

A phenakistoscope is an optical instrument that displays animated images, invented in 1832 by Joseph Plateau. Pask D'Amico created and directed this video using scans of circles he found on the Internet that he digitally animated. He combined the animations to create something original. Finally he created a stop motion with paper toys from nineteenth-century that open and close the video. The music is by Al-Maranca.

He named this work "L'illusion de Joseph" in honour of Joseph Plateau.
