Beyond The Map: Inside The World Of The Favelas

In preparation for the 2016 Olympics, Rio de Janeiro bulldozed favelas (slums), or blocked them out of view. Those same communities often appeared as blank spots on Google Maps.

Now Google has launched a virtual tour of Rio's favelas, showing them in 360-degree video. It's a fascinating trip.
