Mechanical Desk By Giovanni Socci

This desk, now owned by the Louvre in Paris, is one of four known examples of a design crafted by Europe's finest furniture makers, the Socci family of Florence. It was made between 1807 and 1840 for Elisa Napoléone Baciocchi, the niece of Napoleon I of France.
