Abandoned Ontario House Is A Time Capsule

Freaktography is a website devoted to urban exploration photography of abandoned places. Dave, the Canadian photographer who runs the site, told me that the house that got him started is the Breckenridge-Ure house which is just down the street from me in Niagara on the Lake.

He recently explored an Ontario house that had been abandoned with all its contents left behind. There isn't much information available about the history of the house and exactly why it was abandoned. The owner's daughter, 76, told Dave that the house was willed to a local church after the owner passed away but it appears that the daughter and the church had a dispute over who would receive the house. These photos take us back in time.

What remains a mystery is why the daughter chose to leave all of her old belongings in the house for over 30 years.

Probably if she cleaned out the house she would legally not have possession.
