World's Fastest Log Car

The Cedar Rocket is a car made out of a western red cedar log with a concave mouth for a "grille", a wooden roll bar and wooden fenders, and a pair of turbines protruding from its rear.  It weighs 2200 pounds. Unsurprisingly one of the creators of this woody wonder is Bryan Reid Sr., the founder of Pioneer Log Homes in Williams Lake, British Columbia, and the star of the quasi-reality HGTV Canada show Timber Kings.

Reid had the idea for a log car for some time, but the plans for the Cedar Rocket really started to come together two years ago at the Barrett-Jackson auto auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. At the show, Reid started talking about making a car with Gerald Overton, his high school friend and a mechanic. A Pioneer homeowner who owns Buffalo Turbines based in New York was also present. The Cedar Rocket is what happens when a turbine manufacturer, a mechanic, and a log builder design their dream car.
It will be auctioned off, with the proceeds going to a veteran military group.
