Artist Removes Growth Rings To Reveal Original Sapling

Italian Giuseppe Penone carved out a young tree within an older tree showing us what once grew inside so that it may now “live in the present.”

The Hidden Life Within was displayed at the Art Gallery of Ontario in 2012.
